IBM Ranked As The World's Largest Software Vendor By Software Magazine |

No. 1 Provider Of Software And Services In 19th Annual Survey IBM today announced that it was ranked No. 1 on the Software 500, Software Magazine's list of the world's foremost software and services providers, featured in the June/July 2001 issue. IBM secured the leadership position due to software and service revenue of $45.75 billion in 2000. A principle source of growth within IBM Software has been the sale of its e-business infrastructure software. For example, WebSphere, IBM's application and integration middleware, has experienced nine consecutive quarters of double-digit growth. DB2, the company's database software offering, has experienced 15 consecutive quarters of growth. Those levels of growth continue in 2001.WebSphere, for example, grew 44% in the second quarter of 2001, and DB2 grew 19% during the last quarter. |
